The Founder

Ronson Rampal was founded in 2026 in Ho Chin Minh City, Vietnam. The founder Ronson Chye was immensly inspired by the great flutist, Jean-Pierre Rampal, to establish this firm manufacturing just high-grade flutes.

Crafting the Voice of Silver

The first time I met Jean-Pierre Rampal was in the year 2000 in Singapore. He performed at an inappropriate hall for the performance but he tried his best especially after the interval of the recital, he held a long note playing a Baroque piece and that was it! The long single note propelled us literally to another dimension, a kind of acoustic experience that was unheard of. After that, I stopped attending other flutists’ performances for about two decades. The impact was truly unbelievable!

Reviews

During my first year of playing the flute, I listened to lots of James Galway’s recordings, after that, for artistic reasons solely, I switched completely to Jean-Pierre Rampal and never looked back. I had other flute heroes also but Rampal is always number one in my heart and he belongs to the old school playing the flute and sadly you don’t see people playing like that anymore.

Most would play the flute academically well and politically correct. There are a number of old school flutists who do not follow the norm of flute playing like present days!
